2011 State Junior Championships

The 2011 State Junior Championships were held on Sat 19th Nov at Fed's HQ.

A very good field in each age group competed for the right to represent WA at the Australian Junior Championships in Canberra from 15th – 22nd January.

In the under 12's, some very good prospects for the future are emerging, but this year twice runner-up, 9 year old Stella Kearney dominated to take the title with Pera Isabeth claiming second place. All girls for the second year running.

The under 15's event was a 2 horse race between Scott Brownrigg and Jacob Sumner with Jacob pipping Scott by one frame to claim the title. New to the game, Stone Stenhouse impressed to finish third and we are likely to see more of him in the future.

Current National under 18's Champion Luke Foster was always going to be the one to beat in the under 18's event.  Luke proved too good on the day to win by 2 frames from Keenan Cigler who has been knocking on the door for some time. A play-off was required for the third position in the team between Jarad Nagtelaal and Ben Foster with Ben being the victor. It was a big effort from Jarad who has graduated from the under 15's and is sure to be prominent next year.

Adrian Lancaster has been appointed team manager and comes with a history of good Eight Ball management skills.

Thanks to all who helped out over the day and special thanks to Kerry and Aaron from Miss Q's. Great photos Kerry.
