A record 60 Teams competed in 10 divisions at this year's Country Championships held at Swan Park Leisure Centre in Midvale.

The venue was just the right size for the event, although lighting could be better.

ALL WA POOL TABLES supplied the great tables for the event and ran a shop. Thanks to Ken, Chris and Sonny for helping out.

Peel White were the Division 1 Champions winning all 5 matches and Geraldton were runners-up. It is the first time for some years that the Mandurah side has been successful.

Adrian Lancaster was successful in the Country Singles final defeating Paul Barrett from Bunbury.

In a very appreciative gesture, the Country fraternity invited Diane Meakins to the award presentation ceremony to present her with a gift for all her efforts over the years in relation to Country Week in particular. Diane Meakins is to receive Federation Life Membership this year and we know she was pleasantly surprized by the recognition she received.

Once again Ben did a great job at the presentation ceremony.

All in all, another successful Championship and the event continues to grow and grow with new competitors and old making and rekindling friendships.
